    1. It shocked me that I liked this book. I saw that it had a lot of women's lib commentary and immediately thought the worst but the author represented the two leading ladies so well that although they were personifications of the naive extremes of the debate of the time they were relatable (even at their most offensive.)Other than that, Mavis and David were a WONDERFUL couple. I wished the best for them even knowing that is was inevitable.


    2. I found this book in a thrift store, and I loved it. The beginning was hard for me to get into, but only a chapter or so in, I found myself dreading the number of pages I continued to turn and was hoping for it to be longer. It was a great read.
