    1. I've really enjoyed Ms. Bellon's books! She normally writes Romantic Suspense, which is a genre I enjoy, but not one I read from all that often (I have to be in the right mood). So, I was excited when I heard her newest novel was a good old contemporary romance. :)This was a sweet story about new beginnings and new love. Victoria has survived a very abusive marriage and after the passing of her husband she is ready to gain control of her life again. Wanting a fresh start she moves states and sta [...]

    2. I get a little nervous when a tried, true, and trusted author writes in a new genre, but I had no need to worry here! Ms. Bellon does a fantastic job of writing a genuine and tender romance without any of the suspense, which is the mark of talent.Tori had an abusive marriage and struggles to fully trust again. I was drawn into her story from the first page and was eager to see how she would make a new life for herself and her young son. Moving to a small Utah town to teach high school math, she [...]

    3. One of my favorite authors is here, trying something a little different than her usual fare. Julie Coulter Bellon is queen of romantic suspense, usually military style. I love her books! This book though, is romance without the suspense. Can a suspense fantastico write a romance without suspense in it? Well, I definitely think so!Victoria and Drew are both broken but in different ways. Their lives have looked very different so far but they are at the same place now- teaching, surviving and hopin [...]

    4. Love's Broken Road is a character-driven book and focuses on their way of processing the trials in their lives. I appreciated that examples of healthy coping strategies were used by Victoria and that receiving assistance from a therapist was portrayed in a positive light. She was a little difficult to connect with in the beginning since she is so uptight and aloof (understandably so), but she warms up as Drew and those around her provide much needed support and kindness. Drew is fun and sweet, b [...]

    5. Wow, I loved everything about this book from the very start! I loved Tori, she's vulnerable, but at the same time super protective of her young son Caldwell. I loved the parts of the book that talk about their relationship, so sweet. The two of them had been through some very hard times together with the way Tori's husband was abusive and it seemed like you could feel the special bond the two of them shared.Tori moving them to Utah to get away from their bad memories was super sweet. And I loved [...]

    6. Julie Coulter Bellon is one of my favorite authors and I love her romantic suspense novels! This book is straight up romance and I loved it, too! Victoria needs to start life over, so she and her young son move to a small Utah town where she will be the new math teacher. Drew is an English teacher at the same school. His wife died of cancer three years ago but he still hasn't gotten around to dating again. He's interested in Victoria but there are complications to overcome.I was intrigued with V [...]

    7. Love's Broken Road is Author Julie Coulter Bellon's new book. I've read and reviewed other books by this author and loved them. Before, she's written books with action, suspense and romance. Her new book has Romance, but also deals with some very strong themes of dealing with abuse, grief and moving on in life. She dealt with all of these tough subjects in a fabulous way. There are two main characters trying to heal and find each other but struggle trusting and loving again. I loved both Tori and [...]

    8. This book was hard to put down. The theme of abuse and bullying is woven throughout the story. Heroine Victoria has just moved out west with her son to start a new life after enduring an abusive marriage for six years. With her monstrous husband now in a grave, romance is the last thing on her mind. But when she takes a teaching job at the high school in her new town, she meets fellow teacher, Drew, and is attracted to him against her will. The love story between these two was well done and beli [...]

    9. The story is about finding out who you are and overcoming grief and abuse and more importantly learning to love again. There are 2 people who both have a deceased spouse. One is happy for it after an abusive marriage and the other Drew’s wife died of cancer three years ago and he loved her fiercely. They both meet when Tori moves into the neighborhood far away from her abusive past. She has a small boy whom she loves and wants him to grow and be happy. Drew has just been living the motions in t [...]

    10. I've read quite of few of Julie Bellon's suspense novels and was excited for the opportunity to read her latest novel, Love's Broken Road, even though it is a different genre.Bellon did a good job writing believable situations and likable characters. I really felt for Tori and Drew. Both had lost a spouse, but their feelings on it couldn't have been more different. Victoria had been abused and felt relief that her husband passed away. Drew and his wife had a great relationship and her passing wa [...]

    11. I loved this book! Some of my favorite stories to read are the not so fairy tale type. I love when an author writes about real life issues like death, abuse and anxiety. This book was a nice change for Julie I know she doesn't write this type very often and I am glad she went with her gut and her story and wrote it! I loved the whole relationship between Tori and Drew and the instant connection they had. I loved that there was an epilogue too not very often do you get a peek into the future of t [...]

    12. This was my first book by this author, and I may check out some of her suspense writing, because she is a decent writer. Her characters are pretty fleshed out, and the story felt pretty realistic. I didn't enjoy the book as much as one I usually give four stars to, but I gave her an extra star because she did a few things I liked that played with the genre a little. For example, some of the characters looked like they would fall into a certain type and then didn't. I felt like more resolution wa [...]

    13. Julie Bellon has always been one of my favorite authors. I've been looking forward to reading this one as it is a different genre for her. Julie hit a home run! I loved the characters, Drew was amazing, and Tori was too! I loved how their story developed!! I'll be reading this one again!

    14. When Victoria Newel’s husband died on their sixth wedding anniversary, she was suddenly freed from the prison of her marriage, freed from the abuse, the control, the manipulation, and the humiliation. “The ability to make her own decisions had been taken from her long ago and it was strange to have the control back in her hands.” She is determined to erase every hurtful, painful memory, and “prove him wrong.” Drew Dalton lost the love of his life to the insidious cancer that took his w [...]

    15. Fiction. Romance. Second chances. Love's Broken Road is about finding love again. Drew and Tori find themselves entangled into an undeniable connection but their pasts haunt them. Tori is such a beautiful character. Her resilience and strength are admirable. She has her weak moments but she is determined to build a better life for her son, Cal and herself after the abusive relationship with her deceased husband. I loved her logical and methodical approach to things. I also loved how the author f [...]

    16. Loved this story of Victoria and her son Caldwell as they end a life of abuse and move cross country to start over. This story kept my attention from beginning to end. I also loved Drew and how kind and good he is. He adds humor and fun to the book. You should definitely read this book. It is great!!

    17. This novel will tug at your heart. It has beautifully written characters and a romance that develops amidst trials. As a teacher, I was a little distracted by the unprofessional/drama at the school, but it did make for a fun background.

    18. GoodI enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and I liked seeing Tori overcome the abuse she'd experienced .

    19. Deceased husband now gave Victoria, and her son a new beginning. New town, new job as a math teacher, and even a nick name now.

    20. “Love’s Broken Road” is a sweet contemporary romance with two likeable lead characters.Read full review in the 2017 March issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    21. Quick read -- young widow of an abusive husband and widower who didn't think he could everlove another woman. Squeaky clean romance.
