    1. 9 years ago, Tawny had a one night stand with Lucky. The next day he left town and made it big in the rodeo circuit. Lucky didn't know that his one night stand resulted in a daughter. Lucky's daughter has leukemia and needs Lucky for a stem-cell transplant. When Lucky finds out about his daughter, he loves her and becomes an amazing father. Tawny has been in love with Lucky forever and now that he's back in town and a part of her and her daughters life, she has to watch him love another woman.Th [...]

    2. ARC REVIEW Getting Lucky book 5 in Stacy Finz's Nugget California series. This book was funny, aggravating, sweetly romantic and everything I've come to expect from Stacy Finz. Lucky starts off the book a complete moron. Blinded by first love and a fantasy that could never be. He has worked hard to be the best and to prove he isn't trash. Tawny is a strong woman, she has to be, she's been alone for most of her life. She has struggled with a sick father and then a sick child she has worked hard t [...]

    3. Review also found at kristineandterri/2** I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The expected publication date is November 10th, 2014** I have not read any work by Finz previously however without doing any research I think this story may be part of a number of stories taking place in the town of Nugget. the characters were close knit with a lot of backstory that seemed to tell of other stories previously told. Even so it only a [...]

    4. Very enjoyable contemporary romance with suspense, charming townspeople and a hero and heroine who do not fall in love at first sight! Full review to follow on tbqsbookpalace Nov. 23rd.

    5. This may just be the best book in the series so far. I love how Ms. Finz spices up a sweet story about family, hope and love by throwing in some mystery and suspense. I really enjoyed this story and I especially loved Tawny. Tawny Wade is in need of some good luck in her life. Her daughter has leukemia and is in need of a transplant that she can't provide. She's down to her last option - contacting her daughter's father and hoping that he would be a match and donate the bone marrow that she need [...]

    6. This is book number five in this series set in Nugget, California. I've read and loved them all, but you could start here and still enjoy this book. I really liked Tawny Wade and her fierceness -- about her life, her job as a custom Western boot maker and mostly about taking care of her little girl, Katie. Tawny knew Lucky Rodriguez way back when, when the father of his high school girlfriend, Raylene, accused him of rape. Tawny, who'd always had a crush on Lucky, ran into him that same night an [...]

    7. I have only read a few books in this series but this has to be my favorite. Lucky left town 9 years ago when he was accused of rape by his girlfriends family. Before he left he had a one night stand with Tawny and the next day he was gone. He made it big in the rodeo circuit but now he is home to start a new chapter of his life. Tawny has always had a thing for Lucky as far back as she can remember but after her one night with the cowboy she ends up pregnant. Now 9 years later Tawny needs Luckys [...]

    8. LOVED this story!! This entire series has been filled with great stories but I think this might be my favorite so far. Lucky Rodriquez thinks he finally has everything he's ever wanted but he has no idea what else life has in store for him and how full his life can really be.Stacy Finz has written a wonderful story filled with family, hope, love, and people making the tough choices when the time comes. I high recommend this book as well as the entire series.

    9. DNR. The format of mmy ebook made this book difficult to read. It messed with the flow of the book.Plus I HATED Lucky. I thought the fact that he would even be with someone who accused him of RAPING HER gross ugh I thought he was not deserving for his own book with the way this story was written.

    10. If I could give Getting Lucky 10 stars I would. I was mildly disappointed in the 4th book in the series after really enjoying the first three. So I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded Getting Lucky. I was blown away. I could hardly put this book down as it seemed every page left me wanting to know what comes next. The usual Nugget gang was all there along with new faces Lucky Rodriquez, his mother Cecelia and Tawny (Thlema) Wade and her daughter Katie. Ms. Finz continues her habit of in [...]

    11. Lots of wonderful and exciting things happen in the small mountain town of Nugget, California. This time around there is not only love, a miracle and forgiveness, there is a murder and a drug bust. So needless to say, you may want to free up some time and pick-up up a copy of Getting Lucky, the fifth book from Stacy Finz's Nugget series. You will not be disappointed in any way and the ending will leave you smiling from ear to ear. This is the love story between professional bull rider Lucky Rodri [...]

    12. Reviewed at Keeper BookshelfGetting Lucky is a story that reminds me so much of an onion – layers upon layers of an emotional story and it will make you cry. About ten years ago Tawny and lucky had a one night stand, one amazing night that Lucky never thought much about again, one night that gave Tawny a miracle as she looked into the beautiful eyes of the daughter that one night brought into her life.Tawny had loved Luke with the passion that only the youth can experience. Lucky saw her as a [...]

    13. While I love Stacy’s writing style and the Nugget series overall, I must admit that this is my least favorite of all seven Nugget books. This is the first Nugget book where I really didn’t like the hero for the better part of the book and still felt “eh” about him at the end. While Lucky Rodriguez had many great qualities at the beginning, his complete infatuation and blindness when it came to his first love Raylene irritated the heck out of me. That, and the fact that he was so enamored [...]

    14. Lucky left town 9 years ago after being accused of rape by his girlfriend Raylene's dad. He spent a night with Tawny and left town the next day. Since then, he had made it big in the rodeo circuit and now he has come home to settle down and start a new chapter in his life.Tawny has always had a crush on Lucky and ended up pregnant after one night with him. Now 9 years later, Tawny needs Lucky's stem cells to save their daughter who is suffering from leukaemia.I enjoyed reading about the town and [...]

    15. thanks to netgalley and lyrical shine Kensington publishing for my arc. it took me awhile to finish this book compare to other similar books. it's about three people falling in love and falling out of love. Lucky is famous bull rider and coming back to nugget to build cowboy camp and Tawny shows up at his doorstep tells him, he has a child kate. she has leukemia and she needs transplant. it took me more than half of the book to like Lucky. He was rude and arrogant at times and he was seeing both [...]

    16. Getting Lucky is the fifth book in the Nugget, California series that takes place in a small town filled with clever characters and where sweet romance is a way of life. These books can be read alone but will be much more enjoyable as you get to know these wonderful couples in each book. Lucky Rodriguez is a champion and rodeo circuit success story, back home to settle down. But there's nothing settling down when he finds out that he's got a 9 year old daughter, and that she's got leukemia. Tawn [...]

    17. The fifth book in the Nugget series. After, the 4th book was merely so-so (2.5 out 0f 5 stars), we are back to the reason I enjoy this series so much. I really like this small town. It reminds me a lot of Robyn Carr's Virgin River. I'm glad to see that this series will continue for a few more books. I really hope we get a book with Griffin and preferably Lina in the future. The premise of this book is that Lucky Rodriguez, who has returned to Nugget to set up a cowboy camp (dude ranch) after flee [...]

    18. Getting Lucky was a surprise for me. I figured I would like it and move on, but I have to say I was drawn in from page one and couldn't get out of it until I finished it. Lucky hasn't always been lucky. As a kid, being in love with a girl who was out of his league wasn't a great choice. When they got older, things didn't quite work out well for the two and when things went south, the last person Lucky thought would offer her shoulder for him to cry on was Thelma. Nine years have passed and Lucky [...]

    19. Let me just say from the beginning I loathe Raylene. She goes from a selfish, manipulative teenager to an even more selfish, manipulative woman. That was easy to see on page one. I think I would have been fighting mad if Lucky had unluckily not wised up. Yeah, this book produced some strong feeling concerning the characters from me.Getting Lucky by Stacy Finz is the best of the Nugget series. I would highly recommend it to readers new to the series. Why? It has a wonderful man even if he is misg [...]

    20. Format: Galley CopyTawny has only loved one man her entire life, and just when she needs him most he moves back home to start a cowboy camp. Lucky has been in love with Raylene most of his life. He forgot his one night stand from the night he left town. Tawny knocks on his door and lets him know she needs his stem cells to save her daughter, Katie who has Leukemia. Lucky works hard to get to know his daughter and make up for lost time. Though he's an amazing dad with Katie, his faith in Raylene [...]

    21. The only thing I didn't like about this book was getting to the end. When I grow up I think I'll move to Nugget, California. The town has a mixture of so many different types of residents and all add something to the mix. You can immediately identify with the characters and I'd love for some of them to be my next door neighbors. I wanted to savor this book and make it last but alas I once I started reading I just couldn't put it down. Lucky and Tawney have obstacles in their path and help from s [...]

    22. Despite being the fifth book in the Nugget series, this captivating and engaging story can be read as a stand alone.Lucky Rodriguez and Tawny Wade spent a night together 9 years ago before Lucky left town to make a name for himself in the rodeo.Tawny now has a little girl, unfortunately, her daughter has cancer and needs a marrow donor, this leaves Tawny no choice but to reach out to Lucky. This is were the story really starts; Lucky sets out to be the best father he can be while slowly and I do [...]

    24. I love the Nugget series and although you can read this book as a standalone, it's so much fun to catch glimpses of other characters in each book. Ever since we were first introduced to Lucky, I have had a soft spot for him. I was so excited to find out that this book would be starring him and the story is great and fast-moving. You won't be able to put the book down, so set aside an afternoon, make a hot chocolate and settle down to a wonderful and engaging story.

    25. Really great story!Loved this 5th book in Stacy Finz Nugget Romance series. PBR star Lucky Rodriguez and boot maker Tawny Wade have more in common than growing up together in Nugget. When Lucky returns home to start making plans on opening a Cowboy Camp Tawny shows up at his door with unexpected news, they have a daughter together. This is an awesome book and Ms. Finz has definitely written another 5 star book!

    26. 3 1/2 starsThis is a new to me author. And even though the book is well written and the story line is a strong one. I found it difficult to read. Not for a problem with the author. I lost someone very special to me to this same child killer and I just couldn't.The willingness of Lucky to just jump into fatherhood was refreshing and wonderful.Maybe someday I will be able to sit down and finish this book. Please Don't let this stop you from giving Getting Lucky a chance.

    27. Getting Lucky by Stacy Find is an amazing story in the wonderful town of Nugget. This book I would rate as a 4 1/2 stars. I absolutely love how Stacy always has likable characters with love, family and drama in her books. I really enjoyed the story of Lucky and Tawny. You can read as a standalone or read the whole series and fall in love as well.I was given an ARC from publisher via NetGalley, for my honest review.

    28. Lucky and Tawney story is my favorite book in this series so far. I couldn't put this book down. The first half of the book kept me guessing of how it possibly could end. However, I must admit I wasn't ready for the book to be over. I love how Stacy introduces the characters to her next book throughout the previous book. It makes me even more excited to read the next book. Thanks for another great book.

    29. Review Posted at HarlequinJunkieTawny Wade will do anything to save her only child – a beautiful little girl in desperate need, of a transplant otherwise she will die. Unfortunately, time is running out and her only option is to ask the child’s biological father for help. The question is – will he be the answer to her prayers by being the perfect donor match, or is all hope lost? Read More
