    1. Friendship isn't a science mudboy. Just do what you think is right. This book has so much action much thrill much excitement that I couldn't stop reading. I CAN'T stop!! I am completely under the influence of this series and can't take rest till the last book.About Opal KoboiOpal is also very intelligent. Like Artemis. But her plans are evil. She is very hungry for POWER!!I liked the way she is written as an evil-minded Fairy.OVERVIEW Opal plans to take revenge from those who stopped her rebellio [...]

    2. the code on the bottom of the pages says the following:A recruitment letter from the centaur Foaly, technical consultant, to the lower elements police.Trsuted ally,If you have decoded this gnommish message, then you are a deputy officer in the lower elements police. You will not be aware of this fact because it is the custom of the LEP to mindwipe oour human allies. We do this so they cannot remember being recruited. If you cannot remember the fairy people or our underground city, then you canno [...]

    3. “If we make it through this, we will be friends. Bonded by trauma.”Oh myyyy GOD !!! I love every character's development throughout the series. The plot line presents in how we had followed their journey so far is so heart-wrenching and emotional much. It's just so memorable and I LOVE ALL THE CHARACTERS HERE. They're all my baes <3“I do remember, Holly. I remember it all. Especially you. It's a real comfort to have you here.”Come on, the idea of wiping memory and how he slowly rememb [...]

    4. The Opal Deception was definitely my favourite in the Artemis Fowl series back in the day. It comes off the back of a huge cliffhanger in the previous book, the stakes are higher than ever, and this book definitely continues the trend established in The Eternity Code of taking a dark turn. The previous book had serious consequences for our characters, but they were ultimately rescued from those consequences, with admittedly a large cost paid. The Opal Deception goes even darker, with consequence [...]

    5. Artemis Fowl begins another fantastical adventure with Captain Holly Short, Mulch the Dwarf, and Butler to save the world as we know it. I had forgotten how entertaining and truly enjoyable these books are. Shame on me. I really liked getting back into this world and reading the funny one liners the characters say to one another. The writing is hilarious and very fast-paced. There is always something important happening to keep you turning the pages, and the characters are so lovable that you ca [...]

    6. "It's about me! It's always about me! I'm the only important one here!"Great book for the fourth in the series! More fairy action, which is what I loved about the first book. Artemis gets a soul.

    7. I'm looking forward to seeing how Artemis will continue to change. I'm also excited that I like Holly now.

    8. I thought this was a great comeback from the third book, which wasn't my favorite. The action level was high, and the villain was more than a worthy match for Artemis, Butler and Holly Short. There is a very intense and tragic moment that is the catalyst for what follows in this book. Holly thought she'd seen the last of Artemis, but when the chips fall down, she's rushing to save him and Butler and knows that he's the only one who can deal with the villain, the nefarious Opal Koboi. The characte [...]

    9. As a late-comer to the Artemis Fowl phenomenon, I'm glad I did eventually pick it up. These books are really fun and highly entertaining. The Opal Deception didn't disappoint. Here we are, all mind-wiped and uncertain, everything under and above ground going crazy all at once, but still the heroic group pulls together to fight yet another battle. And quite the group at that: 14-year-old Artemis, his behemoth bodyguard Butler, the dwarf-thief Mulch Diggums, and the ever-fiesty fairy, Holly Short.T [...]

    10. The Artemis Fowl books are very good when you need a break from heavy 'grown-up' books. They're fun little adventure stories, and this book isn't an exception. It's not totally light: there is substance -- death happens, the characters are in real danger, actions have consequences, the friendships formed between the characters are realBut it's easy to read, a quick read, and it's a lot of fun. In this book, I could've done with a bit more weight given to the death of a main character, but I love [...]

    11. Opal Koboi is quite the evil mastermind. She certainly pushed everyone's lives into shambles, particularly Root's, I say. Ugh, I'll miss old Beet Root. And it'll be great to see Holly and Mulch with their detective business during the series.

    12. Personal Response:I like this book because it brought into view what most consider lunacy. I adored the idea of mystical creatures that lived in an underground city. They lived among us cloaked and ready to stop the endless cruelty that humans are so well known for.Plot:In the book Artemis Fowl the Opal Deception there were mythical creatures like elves, goblins, trolls, and centaurs that lived underground to hide from the mud men. This incident involved Opal Koboi who was a sprite that became a [...]

    13. Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception By Eoin Colfer 342 pp. New York, New York Hyperion Books for Children ISBN 0-7868-5289-5 The boy genius is back at it again. With two years of fairy memories erased from his mind, Artemis Fowl is back to his criminal mastermind self. This time he has his eyes set on a painting that sits in a very secure German bank vault. But this theft is only the first of many adventures that Artemis takes in the Opal Deception. With trolls, gunfire, and a plot to expose the fa [...]

TUTTO.

    15. ARTEMIS FOWL: THE OPAL DECEPTION (Fantasy) – VGColfer, Eoin – 4th in seriesMiramax Books, 2005, HardcoverArtemis had his mind wiped of his memory of the fairie world and has returned to his criminal ways. He and his man Butler are in Berlin to steal a famous oft-stolen painting so that Artemis can be the youngest person to ever have stolen it. Meanwhile, Opal Koboi, that evil pixie who has been in a self-induced coma, has foiled authorities and is out for revenge on enemies, particularly Art [...]

    16. When an enemy from his supposed past resurfaces, Artemis must come to terms with what he doesn't remember in order to have a chance at saving his life, friends, human civilization and the fairy world at large from certain destruction. The Opal Deception takes a more serious tone than its predecessors, with some truly life threatening peril and death.Artemis' continued personal growth makes the book an enjoyable and worthy installment. Readers should be aware that the story contains descriptive bo [...]

    17. (9/10) Yet another great installment in the Artemis Fowl series. I think I like these so much because they are so easy to read, you get a great adventure which gallops along at a million miles an hour that, if I had the time, I could read in one day! This time you can't keep a good pixie down and Opal Koboi is back with a new plan for world domination. The anti has definitely been upped in the last couple of books with series favourites being placed in some rather hairy situations. I can't wait t [...]

    18. Opal Koboi is back and set on getting her revenge on everyone who foiled her evil plan to destroy the LEP. Artemis has reverted to his old life of crime. He has become the same hard-hearted, criminal mastermind that we knew from the first book. Opal goes after Holly and Root. And after taking care of them, goes after Artemis. Will he be able to outsmart the evil but admittedly brilliant pixie? Or will this be Artemis' downfall? Very good and completely worth it. Character development is astoundi [...]

    20. I forgot about so much that happens. STEALING THE TRUFFLES. Artemis & Holly Bonding. Root's death was still just as painful, though. I can't believe this book includes cloning, being hunted by actual trolls, environmentalism, saving the world with flatulence, and an almost literal journey to the centre of the earth. These books are incredible.

    21. Another strong book in the Artemis Fowl series. Opal Kaboi is back, with the most ridiculous and complicated break out of prison ever.Captain Holly Short now needs the help of Artemis Fowl to defeat Opal but unfortunately, they mind wiped him in the last book. Thankfully, this is broken very easily and Holly and Artemis reconnect. It’s so sad when Julius dies and I cannot believe that Holly quit at the end of the book and it going to go it alone with Mulch.Sadly, this is the last book that I ow [...]

    22. #FowlADayAnother day and another Artemis Fowl added to the completed stack. Actually finished this one last night. A good book after getting off to a little ragged start. I still think the odd numbered books are the best so I’m expecting a great one with number 5. Too much faerie again but Artemis was back to his old self, not like the cog in the second book. Still, I’m approaching burnout on the series/genre. But I’ll try to finish it out. 3⭐️’s

    23. I'm such a stan for these books, and this is one of my favourites behind the first one. I love these characters, and seeing them and their friendships develop, especially following the mind-wipe. Just one question. WHY JULIUS???

    24. Best book in the series!!I was gonna quit reading the series after number 3, I had quite a few people and reviews tell me not too. I’m glad I didn’t.

    25. This is my fourth foray into the Artemis Fowl universe, and Eoin Colfer has yet to disappoint me.Although darker than any Artemis Fowl books thus far, The Opal Deception was still a thrilling, fast-paced read. Colfer's played games with death in previous books, but this installment is where he brings it in full force. It heightened the stakes immensely because we now know Colfer isn't afraid to make us and the characters suffer; thus, I was on the edge of my seat more than ever before rooting fo [...]

    26. How far has cloning technology gone in the underground? The Opal Deception, the 4th installment in the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer, is built around this topic. The world is developed strongly in this story. The reader feels as if they are truly a part of the fairy world. The reader could draw out all the buildings described in the book. Colfer’s use of figurative language really adds to the story. It makes it descriptive enough for the reader to really understand what is going on. The f [...]
